December 9, 1999 Dear G100 and G300 students, This semester you have been working in teams. Please take a moment to evaluate your team. Give each member, including yourself, a 1,2,or 3, where the numbers mean: 1= This person clearly contributed less than other group members, or otherwise made life more difficult for the rest. 3 = This person clearly contributed more than other group members, or otherwise stood out from the rest of you. 2 = anything else. Be accurate, including about yourself-- no false modesty, please, but also remember that I will be skeptical if you rate yourself highly and everybody else says you didn't show up for meetings. Part of business professionalism is being accurate about yourself-- stating your strengths correctly, and also admitting to your weaknesses. Please also feel free to make explanatory comments. I will take this into account as one element of the professionalism part of your grade. Your responses will be confidential. In fact, you should reply to this message privately and individually. If I get more than one response from somebody, I will ignore all but the latest response, in order to break up "cartel" behavior. I will not say anything to your fellow team members unless somebody is rated especially well or badly, and then I will say, if asked, that one reason the person's Professionalism score is high or low is feedback from other teams members, but without saying who said what. If your team is down to just two members, I won't even say that.
