In 2023, my writing commitment is to spend time meditating on God’s Word. Any writing you see here this year will probably be the fruit of this, though I’m not sure how much I’ll post publicly. Here’s to God’s hand in 2022 🍷 Can’t wait to see what he does next! For you, coming child, I walk new paths in a thousand years Portland will be covered in moss and filled with effervescent hummingbirds and sequoias will burst through the red velvet curtains of abandoned theatres. we think the city has the lovableness of a wheezing but functional beater. Korean Hotteok ASMR a five-minute “noticing” in the middle of a workday I’ve put fiction-writing on pause for a bit. But one thing I’ve taken to in the meantime, inspired by the dear @annagraceweaver, is recording thankful lists. Is a picture really worth a thousand words? You didn’t feel the cool humidity of the air or the utter stillness of the day. The smallest crackle made me think a grizzly was rooting around in the bushes nearby. Thankfully, I was ready with bear spray in my hand, and the most dangerous thing I encountered was a neon yellow slime mold 🍂 Saw some of God’s best work this weekend at his Yellowstone gallery. To form the canyon, he exploded a volcano, hardened the ash into rhyolite, then used the impact of water over thousands of years to carve the rock into cascading slopes, adding exquisite details with channels of wind and the occasional earthquake. 🍂 autumn equinox activity: rereading “The Haunting of Hill House.” how are you celebrating fall? book recs?
