Bach Processional of the Bride, ``Lobe den Herren, O Meine Seele'' Welcome Call to Worship Prayer of Adoration. Hymn--- ``Praise to the Lord, the Almighty'' v. 1-2 Prayer of Confession The Lord's promise of forgiveness The Word First Reading: I John 4:7-12. Beloved, let us love one another; for love is of God, and he who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we loved God but hat he loved us and sent his Son to be the expiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No man has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us. Hymn--- ``O Perfect Love,'' v. 1-3 Second Reading: I Corinthians 13: 4-8. Love is patient and kind; love is not jealous or boastful; it is not arrogant or rude. Love does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrong, but rejoices in the right. Love bears all things, believes all things, endures all things. Musical Meditation: ``I Heard the Voice of Jesus Say,'' by Thomas Tallis, in an arrangement for the flute. I heard the voice of Jesus say, Come unto me and rest; Lay down O Weary one, lay down your head upon my breast. I came to Jesus as I was, So weary, worn and sad; I found in him a resting place, And He has made me glad. I heard the voice of Jesus say, Behold, I freely give The living water, thirsty one; Stoop down and drink and live. I came to Jesus, and I drank, Of that life-giving stream; My thirst was quenched, my soul revived, And now I live in Him. I heard the voice of Jesus say, I am this dark world's light; Look unto me, your morn shall rise, And all your day be bright. I looked to Jesus, and I found In Him my star, my sun; And in that light of life I'll walk, Till trav'ling days are done. The Institution of Marriage Ephesians 5: 21-33. Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. Now a the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any another blemish, but holy and blameless. In thi same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. After all, no one ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does the church--- for we are members of his body. ``For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.'' This is a profound mystery--- but I am talking about Christ and the church. However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.
