Have a bio prologue, and an anlysis afterword to each one, one page each. Use Chronological order. Each essay must be entertaining *and* informative.

Hazlitt, Vidal, Theodore Dalrymple, are possible.

An upvote. I reviewed his last big book of essays. They seemed half frivolous, half crazy (eg Howard Hunt killed JFK and shot George Wallace). The only good one was on Montaigne. At t he start, have a table of conents, then a reprise table of contents with a paragraph from each essay.
