College visit: St. Edmund’s Hall

Posted on April 3, 2014April 3, 2014 by amelia admin

A small, ancient building made of white stone.

There aren’t any tourists.

It feels so. . . empty.

Then I walk into a courtyard garden, and there he is.

He is practically part of the scenery, an exotic flower, surrounded by his  mates.

On a bench, he sits absorbing nature like a plant absorbs sunshine.

I wonder if he photosynthesizes to keep his vibrant color.

Maybe.

Through an archway there is a chapel.

Cool.

Stepping inside, I discover much stained glass.

I like to call this one, Matthias the Axe Murderer.

BeFunky_DSCN1806.jpgWe meander out into a churchyard full of crumbling gravestones.

Sitting on a stone bench is a skinny man.

On closer inspection, I discover he is made of metal.

It is St. Edmund.

I didn’t take his photo.

Farewell.

I like the style of that post.

St. Matthias the axe murderer is a great line!

How many of the colleges have you visited?
