Track and Field Tributes and Reflections

Posted on May 31, 2014June 16, 2014 by amelia admin

I picked up a ribbon today. I was looking through my old things and found it, a blue first in the 1600 m at a middle school meet. 2011, the ribbon read; I was a 6th grader in 2011. Flipping it over, I found my time scrawled on the back: 5:59.

As a twelve year old, I broke six minutes. As a thirteen year old, I reached 5:46.

I ran the mile this year with the best time of 5:59. Back to 6th grade. Ironic; my first year of highschool track I get the same mile time as the  first year of track in my life.

I’m on my toes for next year’s track season. If only I were dedicated enough to actually train off season. . . .

Farewell, farewell, farewell.
