Do you think that there is much to the idea that errors in decision making are the result of illusions?
I used to think highly of this metaphor, but I find it increasingly unhelpful.
Yes, I do think the analogy holds. We use rules of thumb that sometimes work badly and that can be improved by being warned and by careful consideration.
